A compact savannah-and-wetland park known for zebras, impalas, elands, birdlife and unusually close wildlife experiences
Lake Mburo is Uganda’s smallest savannah national park, but its mix of lakes, wetlands, woodland, rocky ridges and open grassland supports a distinctive range of wildlife. The park is especially associated with zebras and impalas, alongside elands, buffaloes, hippos and varied birdlife. UWA also lists game drives, boat safaris and guided walking experiences among the ways to explore the park. For Syson, Lake Mburo is a useful wildlife stop on western Uganda routes and provides a gentler savannah contrast before or after the forest intensity of gorilla trekking
