Detailed itinerary

Detailed Itinerary: Day 1 – Travel to Lake Mburo National Park

Begin your Uganda safari with a journey to Lake Mburo National Park. On arrival, enjoy your first wildlife experience as you explore the park’s rolling hills, open grasslands and acacia woodland. Lake Mburo is especially known for animals such as zebras, impalas, buffaloes and warthogs. Spend the evening surrounded by the peaceful landscapes of the park. Overnight: Lake Mburo National Park region

Day 2 – Lake Mburo to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, enjoy the morning scenery before continuing through western Uganda towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive takes you through rural communities, farmland and changing landscapes before arriving in one of Uganda’s best-known wildlife areas. Settle into your accommodation and enjoy the evening overlooking the surrounding savannah or countryside. Overnight: Queen Elizabeth National Park region

Day 3 – Queen Elizabeth National Park Wildlife Experience

Start the day with a game drive across the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs and other wildlife, with the possibility of spotting predators such as lions. Later, explore the Kazinga Channel, one of the park’s best places for close wildlife viewing. Hippos, water birds, buffaloes and elephants are commonly seen around the water. Return to your accommodation after a rewarding day in the park. Overnight: Queen Elizabeth National Park region

Day 4 – Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, leave the savannah behind and travel south towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The scenery gradually changes as you approach the forested hills of south-western Uganda. Enjoy views of local communities, terraced farms and green highland landscapes along the way. Arrive in the Bwindi region and spend the evening relaxing and preparing for the following day’s gorilla trek. Overnight: Bwindi region

Day 5 – Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, head to the park briefing point where rangers introduce you to the gorilla trekking experience. You will then enter the forest with experienced guides and trackers in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek takes you through Bwindi’s thick rainforest, and the length of the walk depends on the location of the gorillas that day. Once the gorillas are found, enjoy the special experience of watching them feed, rest and interact in their natural forest home. After the trek, return to your accommodation for a relaxed evening. Overnight: Bwindi region

 Day 6 – Return Journey

After breakfast, begin your journey from the Bwindi highlands towards Kampala, Entebbe or another agreed destination. Enjoy the final views of Uganda’s countryside as your six-day adventure comes to an end. You leave with memories of open savannahs, abundant wildlife and one of Africa’s most remarkable primate encounters.
